Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease- 2

RVHD-2 is a new strain of Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease that has been spreading throughout the UK over the last few years and is common in mainland Europe. It is a highly infectious and fatal disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits.Thankfully, a vaccination is now available that covers RVHD-2 and we have this in stock. As the vaccination does not provide protection against Myxomatosis, the normal Myxo-RHD vaccination will still need to be given, at a separate time to the RVHD-2 vaccination. For lower risk pet rabbits this is an annual vaccination and for higher risk, such as breeding establishments, 6 monthly vaccinations are recommended.

If you’d like to arrange a vaccination appointment or have any further queries, please contact us at Driffield on 01377 252087 or Bridlington on 01262 677269.

Led by qualified registered veterinary nurses, the free consultations will be open to both new and existing clients from the beginning of January

Health checks are available for cats and dogs, covering a range of topics, including weight loss, dental hygiene, adolescent and geriatric pet care.

At our weight clinics, nurses will be providing comprehensive advice on diet, exercise and maintaining a healthy weight. Clients can also take advantage of discounts on a range of diet foods and free monthly consultations to track their pet’s weight loss progress.

Oral hygiene advice, as well as discounted dental care products and additional treatment, will be available at our dental clinics.

Adolescent clinics, for animals between six and 12 months old, allow pet owners to have their new arrival thoroughly checked over. There is also an opportunity to discuss any concerns regarding issues such as behaviour, feeding, exercise and neutering.

If you’re concerned about a pet aged eight or over, pop into one of our geriatric clinics, where our nurses will be able to discuss and concerns you may have about your older animal.
